Hi, How Can We Help You?

LMIA – Labor Market Impact Assessment

A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a document that an employer in Canada may need to get before hiring a foreign worker. The document is only required to hire someone under Employer specific work permit and is not required for candidates with open work permit such as PWGP or of they have and Opened Work Permit or are exempted from obtaining LMIA.

A positive LMIA will show that there is a need for a foreign worker to fill the job. It will also show that no Canadian worker or permanent resident is available to do the job. A positive LMIA is sometimes called a confirmation letter.

Obtaining specific type of LMIA can also help applicants do receive additional points and confirm they have a valid job offer in Canada ( either 50 or 200 additional points )

If the employer needs an LMIA, they must apply for one. We specialize in this process and will be happy to work with the employers on preparing proper documentation for the process
