LMIA – Explained

LMIA ( Labor Market Impact Assessment ) is a document issued by Employment and Social Development Canada ( ESDC ) which allows a Canadian Employer to offer a position to Foreign Worker under employer specific work permit .

There are many different types of LMIA the most popular being 

Dual Intent LMIA – allowing Employer to support foreign worker’s permanent residency via various available immigration programs .

Work Permit Only LMIA – only for permanent residency support .

High / Low Wage LMIA – allowing for foreign workers in and outside Canada to apply for work permit and work n Canada for a period of time and eventually ( after at least 1 year of employment … some programs require more time  ) apply for Permanent Residency through available programs  .

Agriculture -Hire a temporary foreign agricultural worker

Academics – Bring Teachers and Professor to educational institutions .
